At Cerreto di Spoleto there is a Centre of Documentation on the Valnerina, where you can learn more about this area. The Nera River passes through the valley near enchanting places such as Vallo di Nera and Sant'Anatolia di Narco. Along the way there is also Scheggino and some towns of Terni’s part of the Valnerina, such as Ferentillo, Arrone, Polino and Montefranco.
Among the main attractions are the spectacular Marmore Falls and the charming Lake of Piediluco. The Nera River continues its route through Terni, known as the city of steel and of Saint Valentine, the patron saint of lovers.
It then continues through the narrow gorges of Narni, famous for its medieval monuments. Finally, it flows near Calvi, Otricoli, the ancient Roman city of Ocriculum and the port of Oil, which was used to ship products from Umbria’s hinterland to Rome.
